This month practically flew by, but it’s time for the September 2020 Monthly Craft report! Feel free to not read on. You’ll see why below. 🙂
Project Don’t Buy Yarn
No, this isn’t an actual project. It’s just a goal of mine. A goal that I’m one month closer to achieving since I didn’t buy any yarn this month. My new Knit Picks catalog was really tempting me however.
What I finished
Read my September 2020 plan here.
I finished 0 projects this month. That’s right, none. None at all. I can offer all the excuses in the world but long story short I dropped the ball. And my hook. (See how I snuck an excuse in there?)
On the plus side, that makes this post easier to write. Yet harder, too. It’s hard to admit I missed the mark by so much.
What I really need to do is keep track of my stuff and keep track of my time. I need to do a better job of reminding myself what I need to do and when. So today I created some tracker sheets that I’m going to use to keep me more organized. I also plan on using Trello better so I can have automatic notifications. Paper can’t do that. When I get that all figured out I’ll make sure to let you know what I did.
October 2020 Plan
Tomorrow’s October?! Say it ain’t so! Have to make a plan anyway.
I’m going to stick with the same goals I had last month. I’ll be adding goals for the blog, too, though I won’t tell you the project names. I want you to be surprised!
Personal goals: 3 projects minimum, 2 Pine Ridge sweaters with 1 well on its way to being finished, 5 projects big goal
Blog goals: 4 projects minimum of the (inaudible) I have going
The 7 projects I’m currently working on:
Small (3 hours or less)
- knitted heart washcloth for kid #3: Queen of Hearts pattern
- toaster cover: Polka Dot Toaster Cover pattern I haven’t technically started this yet and I’m trying to hold off until I finish a couple other projects first.
Medium (right now, anything over 3 hours that isn’t a blanket)
- a sweater for kid #2:Â Pine Ridge Pullover pattern
- a knitted shawl:Â Simple Lace Triangle Shawl pattern
Large/Blankets
- our Moogly CAL blankets:Â one block at a time, simultaneously working on blankets for all of us, 7 in all with 1 not started yet so 6 for now
- for our oldest daughter’s blanket I’m currently working on square 2 from 2017 (it’s a bobble, which I don’t like as much but everyone else in the family does)
- a baby blanket/sweater set I first saw in Crochet World magazine: Butterfly Days Baby Set blanket pattern, keeping on it even though #6 has already outgrown it, sweater is done
- music lap quilt: Yellow Brick Road pattern
What are your crafting plans for October? Did you do as well as I did in September? I hope you did better! Let us know in the comments.
