October 2020 Monthly Craft Report

Yet another month gone and time for the October 2020 Monthly Craft Report!

Did I buy new yarn?

No, I did not. I made it through another month without buying yarn. I’m not sure how much longer I’ll go. The colder weather has turned my mind to making socks. I’m not sure if my yarn will be able to sustain that interest.

What I finished

Read my October 2020 plan here.

I finished the Queen of Hearts washcloth including the corkscrew crochet border that daughter picked. The other personal project I finished was the first Pine Ridge Pullover. It’s already in use and being appreciated. It ended up a little small but she still likes it.

I also finished a washcloth for us to use in the kitchen. That one helped me remember that I need to set the dye before use. It leaked dye all over my dishwater!

On the blog side I did finish one project. It was a scarf so it took a really long time to make. I take that back, it just seemed like it did.

That means I hit my personal goal for the month and was three shy of hitting my blog goal. Yay me! When I don’t have a squirming toddler on my lap I’ll put in pictures of these finished projects.

November 2020 Plan

Luckily the only holiday in November is Thanksgiving and that one’s not a huge time suck. I am however going to be ramping up efforts on my other blog, Hoosier Homeschool, to get ready for the end of the year planning rush.

Personal goals: 3 projects minimum, including 2 Pine Ridge sweaters, 4 projects big goal including 3 total Pine Ridge sweaters

Blog goals: 2 projects minimum

The 6 personal projects I’m currently working on:

Small (3 hours or less)

Medium (right now, anything over 3 hours that isn’t a blanket)

Large/Blankets

  • our Moogly CAL blankets:  one block at a time, simultaneously working on blankets for all of us, 7 in all with 1 not started yet so 6 for now
    • for our oldest daughter’s blanket I’m currently working on square 2 from 2017 (it’s a bobble, which I don’t like as much but everyone else in the family does)
  • a baby blanket/sweater set I first saw in Crochet World magazine: Butterfly Days Baby Set blanket pattern, keeping on it even though #6 has already outgrown it, sweater is done
  • music lap quilt: Yellow Brick Road pattern
