December 2020 Monthly Craft Report

Didn’t get much time for crafting this month, but it’s still time for the December 2020 Monthly Craft Report!

Yarn Buying

I finally ended up buying some yarn. My mother-in-law gifted me a Joann gift card for Christmas. I decided to use it to get that yarn I ran out of earlier in the year. Additionally, I got some of Red Heart’s Heat Wave yarn to try that out. It could even end up as a Yarn Review post.

I also bought some yarn from Knit Picks. Our youngest two don’t have slippers yet so I wanted yarn for those. (That’s a good enough excuse to break the yarn fast, right?) I was already going to buy some interchangable needle tips to use some of the yarn I already have. So I decided to pick yarn from Knit Picks for that and some washcloths.

What I finished

Read my December 2020 Plan here.

The only project I finished was my Countdown to Christmas stockings by Whistle and Ivy. And when I say finished, I mean I ran out of yarn. I’ve made enough of them to get us through Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day this past season. I’ll need to make 3 more to get me to 41. I had to restart my computer after writing about this, so superstitious me is moving on.

January 2021 plan

New year, new start. I’m going to purge my project list and refresh it.

Please forgive the lack of pattern links. I ran out of time after fighting with my computer earlier in the post and will try to come back and add them in later. I’ll delete this part if that gets done.

Current projects:

  • Jazz Age Washcloth as part of my 52 Weeks of Dishcloths self-challenge (we need more washcloths)
  • Cardigan Shrug for me to see if Brava yarn is warm or not (an obsession of mine)
  • Slipper Boots for our youngest two

Month goals

  • Personal: 6 projects (especially if I get some washcloths done)
  • Blog: 2 projects

I set up a challenge on Ravelry for myself to finish 75 projects by the end of 2021. I’ve also set up a challenge on Goodreads to read 30 books.

I’ve very nearly perfected my project planning sheet. I’m excited to be so close to getting it to you all!
