Testing the Maker Home Dec Yarn

I like to try to pick a pattern from the manufacturer when I test out new yarn. For this yarn I picked the Bubble Bathmat. (Click on the “Download Free Pattern” button to access the pattern.)  I picked the Lilac Fence variegated color for my bathmat.

Soft yarn is always nice to work with, and Home Dec is a nice, soft yarn. It doesn’t split because it’s a tube of fabric instead of lots of strands together like other yarns.

This is a bulky yarn and because it is you have to be careful of your hand cramping up. The pattern could be the reason for this. I would have to try out the yarn in another pattern to be able to tell if it’s the yarn or the pattern. As I was getting the link to the pattern I realized there’s an edging I didn’t do on my bathmat. I seemed to run out of yarn before I was supposed to.

The finished bathmat feels soft on my feet and is perfect for our bathroom. The floor gets rather cold in the winter so this mat will be a very welcome addition.
